Neuromuscular Rewiring for Climbers

feldenkrais

As climbers we are constantly looking for modulating our bodies according to rock situations to be more efficient and precise.

What we often ignore is that we move and think according to our pre-wired self image, especially when put into stressful situations where we need to act fast. This pre-wired way is not necessarily the most economic and efficient neuromuscular pathway and we end up exceeding in effort and dissipating energy through unnecessary tension and uncoordinated movement patterns.

By feeding the brain with precise and detailed information about our body and its functioning we improve our self image. By improving our self image and our ability to feel, we learn to perceive and respond to situations with accuracy, streamlining force into clean and clear movement patterns.

In this gentle movement class we will explore climbing-specific movement patterns and their functioning, creating enhanced awareness of involved body parts and integrating the whole self to serve efficient rock climbing.
